Father's Day and More

Another weekend had come and gone. This weekend we celebrated Father’s Day – Daddy went to play golf with some friends, while Mommy and Sophia helped throw a baby shower for LeeAnn and her new baby. It was a great time, and we can’t wait to meet the new baby in August- maybe she will have a name by then. Sophia was a great baby as usual. She was a little upset at times, I am sure it was all the commotion going on around her that threw her off a little.

On Friday, Sophia turned 4 months old!!! We had her check up then, she weighed 14 pounds and 7 ounces which landed her in the 70th percentile. She is now 25 inches long- 78th percentile!! Hard to believe that she has grown so much in the last 2 months. We are not starting on rice cereal for a couple of weeks as she has had a little rash on her back and we want to make sure it is cleared up before she starts the cereal. She is really starting to reach for things- her fave is a set of links. She also loves to sit up in the Bumbo chair so she is able to check out everything around her. She still hates to lie on her belly, but it is getting better and better. She rolls from her belly to her back, but not every time she is on her belly. All in all, Sophie is a happy, go-lucky, sweet baby! Mommy and Daddy are truly blessed with such a great child!!!

Another Busy Weekend

Chillin' on the swing at Aunt Polly's

Anna helping feed her cousin

Sophia and Jasper just hanging out

What a beautiful smile!!! And yes, I think her hair will be red!

This video is of some of the cute sounds Sophia has started to make on a regular basis! AND she laughed out loud for the first time on Wednesday! I haven't heard it yet, but Marty and Grandmom witnessed it. I have been trying to get her to do it again, but haven't had any luck besides a little giggle once.

School is out for summer- officially!!! Yay! This means more for Mommy and Sophia to spend the days together!! (at least most days, since there are some when I have to go in for PD.) We kicked the summer off with a very busy start! My cousin, Kaye, and her family were in town from Texas and we spent Friday and Sunday visiting with them! It was great to see all the family we haven't seen in a while. Then, Debbie and Mike came to visit on Saturday. All in all, it was a very fun-filled weekend and Sophia is a trooper, hardly ever getting upset during all the transitions and passing her around.
Hard to believe that Sophia will be 4 months old on Friday. We have her 4 month check up then and are anixous to see how much she has grow. My guess is she will be over 13 pounds, maybe 13 and 3 ounces, and 25 inches long. I will let you know as soon as I can what the new stats are!!!

15 weeks

Sophia is continuing to amazing Daddy and Mommy with how big she is getting. She is such a sweet baby, almost always in a good mood. Generally she only cries if she is hungry. She has started to become very, very animated – she screams with delight and smiles at Mommy and Daddy all the time. She also recognizes us and is happy to see us in the morning when we get her out of her crib for the morning feeding. She no longer cries when she wakes up, instead there is just the smile and sometimes there are squeals of happiness. It is soooo sweet!!! She is still rolling over, but it is not every day. Sophie likes to ‘sit up’ to see what is going on around her. She also likes to ‘stand up’ when you are holding her. She doesn’t like to be held like a baby anymore as she likes to check everything out. Sophie also LOVES the TV, she will practically turn around to see the television when you holding her or playing with her. We might be in trouble with that. Sophia sleeps through the night every night, now. She usually goes to bed about 9:30 and is up at 6:00ish. We are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby!!

Going back to work was hard, but having a happy baby and one that sleeps through the night has made it easier. Nevertheless, I can’t wait to get home in the afternoon to see what she is doing. I am so thankful that Nana and Grandmom are taking such good care of her while I am at work- they are the best!!! I know I have nothing to worry about when she is with them. I am looking forward to being home with her again soon (only 3 more days!!!)
